Ometepe Monastery Pictures
|
While on Ometepe Island we stayed at The Landing Hotel near the ferry dock in Moyogalpa. We got talking to John Tansey, the owner of the hotel, and he told us about a property he owned the other side of San Jose del Sur a few miles down the road around the island. He took us there in hopes that we might encounter somebody who could use the facility and pass on the availability to them. It is a recently built monastery that has dorms and other buildings suitable for volunteer work teams. His hope is to book it and staff it a few months a years preferably to regularly returning groups. If it looks like something that would meet your needs contact him through the Landing Hotel.
He drove us there and we wandered around the property and part of the property next door. All the pictures below are taken of the monastery property or from it. There are dupes since both Juanita and I snapped whatever interested us and sometimes took more than one try.
We have no financial interest in any outcome. We just like the property and can see it being a very relaxing place to stay and a good base for humanitarian or outreach teams.
