November was a quiet, directionless month. I carried on leveling the sea can. There’s more to do, but that’s close enough until next year.
A lot of time was wasted on the iPhone, mostly on X following the election and the aftermath. A certain amount was absorbed by frequently checking in on the Flash Food app to see what bargains had appeared at the local supermarket. The app is also useful to buy discounted items at supermarkets between home and Edmonton.
We celebrated Ernie’s birthday at Deborah and Ernie’s.
One day we met Stephanie and Larry, friends from Regina, in Saskatoon for lunch and a visit. Saskatoon is about midway between us.
Despite the cold spells we carried on with our daily walks. I kept my steps above the 10k a day target for 6 out of 7 days a week. Sounds like a poll result doesn’t it? “Accurate within 5% ten times out of twenty” or something like that.
We drove to Edmonton on Black Friday and bought a few things that were on sale and a few other things that are hard to buy in Meadow Lake. Speaking of Black Friday, how is that even a thing in Canada? There’s no Thanksgiving Thursday to be between it and a weekend. Oh well, it didn’t make the stores less crowded. Bargains at the cost of cultural appropriation are acceptable.
The purpose of the trip was not for shopping, it was to celebrate Amadea’s seventh birthday on the Saturday. One of the things we did was walk around Southgate mall and visit a winter wonderland walk through set up in a vacant store. Thus ended November.
